One and a half OR One and half (See more…)

 The correct phrase is ‘one and a half’ because it follows standard English grammar rules for mixed numbers. A mixed number is a combination of a whole number and a fraction. In the case of ‘one and a half,’ it is a mixed number of a whole number (1) and a fraction 1/2 (half).

Therefore, it is logical to say: two and a half, three and a half, four and a half, five and a half, etc.
