Strongman OR Strong man (See more…)

 The differences between ‘strongman’ and ‘strong man’ lie in their spellings and parts of speech. 

The one-word ‘strongman’ is typically a noun referring to a person who exercises power or control in a dominating manner; it also means a performer who showcases physical strength such as a circus strongman. 

Familiar examples include: strongman of Ibadan politics, strongman of Libya, etc. 

On the other hand, for the two-word ‘strong man,’ ‘strong’ is the word (adjective) that describes ‘man’ (a noun).
